The "rug-positif" of the organ, on its so-called swallow-nest pendant support. The pipework is set in the carved case from the organ by Hendrik Niehoff built in the early 1560's. The balcony next to it has heavy sculptural forms that identify it as part of the enlargements of 1626. Leiden's 17th-century composer Floris Cornelisz. Schuyt played this organ. The more famous organist and composer Jan Pietersz. Sweelinck came from Amsterdam to inspect the organ and approve it after its renovation. In more recent times, concerts on this organ have been given by many of the world's most famous performers.
